Poker Run G15

Post by kens »

With interest in 2 other threads, the Exploring Chickamauga Lake, and River Run, I am planning a Poker Run.
Very similar to a motorcycle poker run, except we got boats; prizes for best hand, worst hand, etc.
Done concurrent with Friday River Run, the stops for cards are proposed as:
1st card, home port (spaghetti dinner?)
2nd card, Sale Creek marina
3rd card, Amigos Mexican Restaurant
4th card, ZOIS at Harbor Lights marina
5th card, home port, (pavillion)

The stops (I believe) are selected for food, beer, Bar/Grill, personal pit stops.
The 3rd card, Amigos, is no-change to original discussed River Run, and farthest on the route,
The River Run is still there, this is a side bar thing, if you want to

Gayle has given positive feedback to me on some prizes,
Riders can enter/play also, you need not be owner to play.
example: a boat carries 3 riders, that is a possible 4 players total
I'm looking for interest of 10 players minimum for me to take this ball and run with it, post prizes, entry fee, rules, etc.
This is not a replacement to River Run, this is a fun side-bar poker run, with food/beer/card hand/prizes/socializing/bragging rights

All those in favor say AYE !

I'm in! Sounds like fun. Do you think the marinas will be on board with it?

Sounds good Ken. Sign me up. Is it possible for a "damn plastic boat" to win?? Are you brining your boat this year?

Hmm, a 27 gallon tank may not have been the best choice for this type of event.

It don't matter, gas at every card stop, you could do this on a 6 gallon outboard tank

I won't have a boat yet, but I'd play.

We're still happily married, but now she just wants "the dam boat out of the garage."

Melissa I would love to take part if we can hitch a ride. The AmpEater-Aquatron would only have enough time to make it to the first stop and back at cruising speed of 4.8 mph. :D

Cool.
Sale Creek marina is onboard to accommodate us, they got restrooms, gas, ice, snacks,
Perhaps appropriate we get gas & ice from him for his support of our cause.

The other stops I mention have beer & food.
edit: Amigos has a party room for 40 people, I got it reserved

Count me in! Looking forward to seeing everyone and hopefully bringing my time-delayed creation if my motor arrives in time. It has a new name, "Angler of Repose".
