Start by reading The Seaworthy Offshore Sailboat by John Vigor. And if you want to live to tell of your off shore experiences think worst case senario. Is there a stability curve available for Tango? What's going to happen if she gets knocked down more than 90 degrees? If she gets slammed by tons of crushing green water by a large breaking wave? When the sails and rigging get hammered by 60 knot winds? Maybe you could beef up a Tango enough but she's designed as a relatively light weight centerboarder. I'd be looking at a different boat.
