I made it to West Marine on Saturday. Theoretically they had what I needed. Reality was the shelves were bare. I ended up ordering online.
I just dropped more on the hull paint that I have in lumber for the frames. Ablative paint is dang expensive!

I have the spray rail dry fitted now and have radiused the edges. At this time the rail is of rectangular profile from stem to stern. I know Ken left the rectangular profile and Matt transitioned his at frame three.
Are there any others who have left the rectangular profile? Does it affect the boat's performance?
Also I have seen some arguments on glue down rail vs no glue, but I cannot find that thread now. Are there any real cons to no glue?

When I put the spray rail on my Gentry, I kept the rectangular shape of the rail all the way to the bow. It followed the side profile of the hull so it threw water out and down. I really didn't notice any change in performance, just did away with the "wet ride". I believe I attached the rail to the hull with 3m 4200 and bronze screws.

I see that I have not posted in a while. I now have the spray rail on. I left it in a rectangular cross section all the way. Looks pretty good. I then got it epoxy encapsulated.
The weather and work at cooperated over the last two or three weeks and I've managed to get four coats of epoxy based primer on the coat on the boat. I also now have five coats of anti fouling paint on the bottom. I drew out the waterline at three inches above the chine to accommodate weight.

Now I am waiting several days so that I can mask it for the side painting.

I purchased interlux bright side for the sides and now see that it recommends interlux 333 thinner which I did not buy.
Is there a home Depot alternative?

I would not mix brands. If you must, test it on scrap first.

333 thinner ingredients are kerosene and naptha. Naptha should work, but I would test as Roberta recommends. I have used both 333 and Naptha for both interlux products and ephantes varnish with no problems. If you can't find naptha, coleman camp fuel is naptha and can be used as a substitute.

Yes, it would make it dry faster. Mineral spirits would make it dry slower. If you are uncertain, go with the 333.

Well the flip may be delayed. It has turned cold so the side painting is on hold for now. No matter, my wife has a slew of chores for me to catch up on.

After painting a bedroom and bath then tiling the kitchen back splash, it is still to cold to paint the bottom. Forecast for this week is no better. I think this weekend I will work on the cradle parts in my shop.
