Fabulous! I cannot imagine the level of commitment to bring this beautiful vessel to completion. Everything is X 10 on your build, just gaining access to a section of the hull to sand it would be a major undertaking. Your boat is so special to all of us builders. Getting a few more details worked out this weekend… have installed the anchor rode on the forward winch ( 100’ 3/8 G4 chain and 300’ 3/4 nylon 3 strand).

Anchor rode just fits on the forward winch!

Will be getting the anchor swivel next week.

Need to check out the hydraulic functions now that we’ve got the leaks fixed… and the list goes on!

Hope to get some speed and fuel burn vs rpm data this weekend…

A brief update:

Have had a chance to put some time on the main engine, about 40 hrs so far. Oil consumption is nil so rings seem to be seating well. Speed and range vs rpm chart is attached. We are seeing about 11 kts WOT and our 1.9 gph target @ 1200 rpm is giving us 7 kts instead of the 8 kts shown in the construction notes, but we ended up 6000 lbs over the design weight @ 40,000 lbs; also, we’re pushing the 2 stabilizer fins so the 1 kt penalty seems to be reasonable… may want to take an inch of pitch off the prop later.

Thanks guys… we’re pretty satisfied with the performance numbers so far, all things considered.

Ken and Matt, for sure I’ve got a bucket list for some extended passages but for now we’re taking baby steps with local trips to get more familiar with what to expect from the systems with respect to reliability. The Pacific Northwest and Alaska will probably be the first long trip… it’s mostly coastal cruising so you can tie up at the dock at the end of the day.

Billy, the stabilizers work great now that everything is dialed in. My wife is looking forward to our weekends on the boat and has been a great help in organizing and maintaining the living spaces.

We have a few more pics and videos to post… will try to get them out later this week.
