you put that Carolina broken sheer on it.
Very nice.
And that console, that is not from the original plans is it?? That is your own custom?

Re: Atlantic Skiff build
I knew what colors I wanted before I even started the build. There are a lot of boats that color so I can’t take credit for being original. Once the boat was flipped I pretty much just did what I though was right. The plans don’t give too much info for how to do the inside. I put a lot of thought on how I wanted the console and seat. There are a few boats I fish on so I took measurements of all the stuff I like and put it all together on mine.

Re: Atlantic Skiff build
Well, you’ve put it together nicely Weller. Very classic lines from that area, colors are spot on, classy helm, and nice wood showing off on the stern.
Bravo!!
Bravo!!

Bravo! Nice to see it out in the open.
Re: Atlantic Skiff build
Yes, all the new style lines of the newer outboard Center Consoles, but retaining that V8 rumble.
engine weight low & center, for seakeeping.
Enough wood trim to stand proud on her own lines.
A Baby Hatteras?
Baby Bertram?
Baby Viking?
Bravo ! Nice lines.

Re: Atlantic Skiff build
So here is the mess I have been working on. I have everything wired up except the electronics and whatever wires I need to run to the roof. Does anyone know how to figure how many batteries I need to run all of this. I was going to have two but now I’m second guessing myself.

Re: Atlantic Skiff build
Well that looks pretty good,
Looks better than my own installation, and I am a electrical kind of guy (when I get paid to do it)
How many batteries?
Since it looks like you already got the battery selector switch installed, I guess two.
With all the modern electronics, LED's, etc., actual amps draw is less,
Modern battery quality is higher than years ago, so one battery would probably be fine,
But, if you already got it switched/wired for two, then use two plain battery
Example:
I got the Dodge/Ram/pickup/Cummins/Diesel with dual batteries. The last pair of batteries went to 10 years.
Read that TEN years !!
When we were kids three years on battery was typical and four was fortunate.
I since replaced the dual batteries with a brand new single battery and driving it around just fine.
I simply abandonded the second battery hook ups.
Starts/runs fine.

Re: Atlantic Skiff build
Yeah I was definitely was going to use two but thought maybe I need three. This is an area that I have very little knowledge in. Do I need some kind of charger or will the alternator charge both batteries when the motor is running?

Re: Atlantic Skiff build
whatever you select on the big battery switch will charge by the alternator
whichever battery you select off will not charge

Re: Atlantic Skiff build
So if I select both they well both charge?
