And so it begins.
When I started the Barrelback I bought enough materials for two boats. I also built two sets of frames.
I have started the second boat which will be the utility version. Why you may ask? , well I have a second home on the East coast
I had so much satisfaction from building the first one…. I hope to continue. Hopefully I’ll live long enough to finish it and enjoy it!
Wish me luck. This one should be easier.

Mental check list for 2022.
Buy a second house on the west coast.
Start building a barrelback to match the Key Largo I built on the east coast!
Seriously, very best of luck with the utility version. There are some differences that will make the build a bit easier and harder.
Less deck to caulk and polish, but you'll need to build an engine box.
I'm going to post about a minor issue with my engine box that caused a semi-major issue (engine wouldn't start at the dock), but you have a lot of time before you get there.

Good luck but you wont need it. I would think building a second boat would be a lot less stressful as you already understand the entire process and can improve upon your knowledge.
Enjoy and given the beauty of the first one, this one will be spectacular!

I had to chuckle when you said this because it is quite a contrast
Its interesting.
Its going much faster than the first time. The actual work is the same but the worry and learning part is removed.
Its kind of fun, because its more known.
OK ,I got to do this and it has to look like this... Not only that I have all the tools and parts necessary already. I don't have to get anything.

Beautiful Job!
The frames are artwork. I almost hate to cover them.
