Key Largo Update - Boise
Just finished the stain on the project finally, I had some issues with the varnish I applied prior to flip too long ago, so completely stripped and sanded back the sides again. Prepped with CPES and here is the result, thanks to Mick for the walnut stain for the coverbaords. Now have to wait for a few days for everything to cure. Happy New Year

Where have you been hiding this one?

Nothing says poor craftsmanship like wrinkles in your duct tape!

Thanks for the support, using the long weekend to get ahead with the varnish - 4 coats in now.

Latest update - decided to get the last coats of varnish on and the caulking before it gets cold here. Still some clean up and buffing to do when the varnish hardens, starting to look how it should now yay!
Also have to repaint the boot stripe as I refinished the sides.
Hoping for next summer in the water now?

Beauty!
Re: Key Largo Update - Boise
Thanks for the kind words, with a lot of patience and a lot of masking tape boot stripe now painted back on the boat with a nice crisp line, onto the internals now.
Re: Key Largo Update - Boise
So just picked up hopefully the last Sapele I will need - these are 8/4 13ft (l) x 7" (w). With some strategic measuring and band saw setup I should be able to trim out all of the cabin area's.
Always feel bad when I start cutting up material that looks as good as this, just as well I have dust collection.

So have now ripped the interior paneling (curtains) and the stock to make the rub and spray rails. Through the planer/jointer tomorrow.
Also found this great feather-board works for band and table saws lot quicker than making one, worked great for thinner higher stock.
Happy Friday from Boise

Hello bb,
Well! That looks like some VERY nice Sapele you've milled there!
It seems to have some beautiful straight grain.
I'm envious of you! I bet it'll be nice to work with.
Regards,
Alan
