Trip I'd like to take... Lake Moultrie to Charleston Harbor
The talk about possible changes to the gathering got me thinking of a river trip that could be fun. Not as a replacement for the G but just something else fun. Lake Moultrie in SC down the Santee Cooper to Charleston Harbor. Spend a night nor two and go back. Has anyone been on that waterway? Anyone else interested in the trip?

Once I complete my boat, I'd be up for anything. Sound fun.

Building a malahini "Mona Lisa"
My wife said "If I build a boat, she's getting a divorce."
We're still happily married, but now she just wants "the dam boat out of the garage."

There is a great many short river runs, (compared to Bob Maskel & Macke)
The Savannah river can be run from Atlantic ocean up to Augusta, Ga.
The Kentucky river can be run from Ohio river up to Frankfort, Ky. (lockmaster permitting)
There is a multitude more no doubt.
Can you imagine all the youtoob videos you could a assimilate taking all these short side river runs????
Take video of the spring green-up, and the fall-colors????

Oak is over rated, everything about it takes extra time; then it warps, splits or checks !!!

That's what I have in mind, Ken. Just have to find end points with accomodations since we don't have a cruiser. We love hanging out in Charleston. I'm sure it would be even better exploring by water.

I live in Charleston now, but I taught at Purdue for 12 years.
I'm familiar with the Harbor and intracoastal, from kayaking trips, but have not come down from Moultrie. Needless to say, once my boat is finished...engine going in soon...I'd be up for it.
