This is what I planned to do before I start on my full size Barrelback. I've been building models since I was in grade school.

I started doing that with my Dad way back. The mini Torpedo build is very similar to the full size, if you look back at my building of the full size Torpedo. I used the drawings and bumped them up to 1/6th from 1/12th to make the framing and other parts. The loftings were used to make the frame patterns and I blew up the plan-view to make the harpins.

Hi Roberta,
Your 0.16 built looks great, I'm sure it turns out as good as your full scale Torpedo.

Today I launched my 0.10 scale Torpedo. It is a bit on the heavy side. I added an engine sound system and now the waterline is a bit above indicated on Glen L's plans.
However it planed out without a problem .

That would be awesome if you could visit us, I will need a lot of your expertise.
But we need to build a house with a large garage first. The current one is too small. :(
However, there are quite a few Aussies that are about to finish or have completed their boats.
