Re: It's official Spring Fling on Table Rock

Sorry we missed you guys. We were there from about 8 to 9. Visited with a guy from Wichata (sp), he was putting in a new fuel filter on a Chrysler flathead 6 banger. I hope you have a lot of fun.

Re: It's official Spring Fling on Table Rock

Sorry about the cancelation but I understand. We were going to come down on Saturday (no boat). We will probably make the June event. I just received the check for the sale of the Studebaker race car. Hope to start on a boat this fall, would be a great winter project.

Re: New Member from Missouri

Kens, I had to fabricate all the pieces for the induction and exhaust. The turbo is a rotormaster HX-35, I don't have it running yet, I am wiring up the engine now. A couple friends of mine that live in Ohmaha will come down and help finish the wiring and get it started.

Re: New Member from Missouri

Thanks Gail for the much needed info. Here is a couple of photos I took this morning. A friend of mine bought a 1957 Besiemeyer V drive boat last fall and we been making a new motor mounting/Vdrive assembly for it. It will be powered by a 348 Chevrolet, should be real cool.

Re: New Member from Missouri

Great info, Dave. My wife asked me awhile back, "how much will the boat cost to build"? I told her I didn't know. So, if I have the engine and controls, can build the stainless steel gas tank, what would the boat cost to build?

Re: An unlikely bonus to my build

BJH, you are very lucky to have your Dad around to help on your project. My Dad died early (63) from a life of smoking. It would have been great to have him help me on my projects. He built a Chris-Craft kit boat back in 1955, it turned out great.

Re: New Member from Missouri

This engine was out of a military vehicle, it was a 302 GMC, it has been bored out to 311 cubic inches, copper head gasket with stainless steel O rings, aluminum rods, bigger valves, ported, flat top blower pistons and has been balanced. It will be turbo charged and EFI with a turbo 400 tansmission....

Re: New Member from Missouri

I am in the process of building the old GMC to pull the boat with. Got to finish this first before I start on the boat.
