Re: Rebuilding the trailer from under the boat

I get a lot of milage out of that little rig, it actually a HVAC vacuum pump, but it gets time with oil, brakes, and of course, AirCon.

Re: COVID Protocol

This new venue has a lot more room than the dock at Hales bar. There is 2 pavillions, 2 boat docks, massive parking spaces, ; if anyone feels better with social distancing, then this place is easier distancing, if that helps.

Re: Rebuilding the trailer from under the boat

Bleeding brakes day. Here is the setup I use for oil changes and brakes. Perhaps Rube Goldberg looking, but it works for me. I prefer to pull brake fluid down to the vacuum tank rather than pump pressure the master cylinder. Same with oil changes, I use the vacuum tank to suck it out. 20210805_14390...

Re: COVID Protocol

I'm OK with hand sanitizer. With a mixed group from various states, with various statewide protocols, I'm OK with hand sanitizer.
We are vaccinated.
My gut feeling is those un-willing to vaccinate to mask up.
But, that is my own feeling, I cannot speak for a group as a whole.

Re: G15 Dates and Location

Not supposed to be any dock charges. The original invitation letter to me said we get docks. I'll call and inquire about that EDIT: 3:30pm Bluewater as of last year allowed boat slip with a room reservation, for the weekend; they have since quit that. HOWEVER, since we made our agreement last year, ...

Re: Rebuilding the trailer from under the boat

Here is new carpet on the aft bunks. Notice a bevel on the top, to match the vee bottom. Even tho they are fixed bunks, there is no need for them to be adjustable. Remember the concerned effort we all put into making the boat aft running bottom straight-flat-true? That same flat running bottom sits ...

just take it a inch at a time, it is slow. but it is also safe.

Re: Building The Vera Cruise

when jacking/lifting/shoring any piece of machinery, boat, whatever, think of a tripod. think in terms of sitting on 3 points like a tripod the boat 3 points are; transom port/starboard, and the bow. you can lift any single point and it is safe, it is still upon 3 points. but, you gotta remove the j...

Re: Building The Vera Cruise

The wooden frame with the tennis shoe is the safer device. Thats because steel-on-steel is slick. Jacking with wood is better because wood doesnt slip on steel, as steel-on-steel does. either of those however will not prevent the boat from tipping over; only support at the chines will prevent a tip ...

A tour of Vam Dam boats is worth a stop. you must be real close. Call and ask them.

Re: books on wiring

in my 40 years working with electrical, relays are first suspect part to look at when the circuit dont work.
Took about 10 years to get to the point where relays are the first suspect, then nothing changed my mind the next 30.
You need to do more electrical troubleshooting.
