It looks like the “Rendezvous” idea is growing legs we have 8 attendees and 4 boats
between the 2 forums and me spreading the word around. I will post the “Rendezvous”
invitation on a BoatUS forum when I find the appropriate group.
I have been thinking about a relay race to Swing Beach and back. There is a hole in the old
levee between Piper Slough and Franks Track that I use, my boat has only 8 inches of draft.
You can see the hole in this picture.

It is a 5 mph no wake zone in Piper Slough but we can get through that hole and have 1-1/2 foot
of water and get to the fast water in Franks Track to go to Swing Beach pick up a flag and
come back. The tide station prediction for Irish Landing is: 10/28/2007 1:17:08 PM +1.16 Low
so this should work.
There is a submerged caterpillar tractor, complete with bulldozer blade nearby. The driver’s
cage of the tractor is only 1-1/2 feet underwater at mean low tide so it is good to avoid.
Below are salient waypoints from my GPS.

I monitor VHF frequencies 72-16-9; 4 is for weather, 72 is for recreational boaters, 16 is
for hailing plus the Coast Guard and 9 is to request bridge openings (I don’t have to do that
yet but I bet Terry does).
As a heads up the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s boat is berthed at Sugar Barge across from the
launch ramp so please bring your life jackets, have your CF numbers on your newly built boat,
and use your kill switch lanyard on your wrist. We are going to have a safe, fun time.
