Who's not drinking!
The boss and I just hopped in the Checkmate and eased down river about a mile and went to our annual riverfest.
Many BBQ teams from all over the South, live music and cold Bud light.
A nice night for a boat ride, last day of summer, 88 degrees at dusk. Dont get much better. Oh wait.... I did stop at the gas dock, $ 3.59 per !
That part aint so good, I have all winter to figure out how to run an IC engine on horse poop.
I did manage to get the first coat of Sunflower Yellow on the cracker this morning though, shows the imperfections much better than that flat white primer, Oh well more sanding.
Pictures to follow soon

That is so funny. I thought my hull was PERFECT...then I hit it with some red paint..the imperfections just jumped out of the wood like they were going out of style...needless to say I paited and sanded, and sanded and painted, and sanded and sanded.....wow..I have learned to love sanding..to the point that the next time I will do it so well I wont have to sand at all !1

The darker the color, the more it will show imperfections. Black being the most difficult color to get perfect. White is the most forgiving color regarding imperfections.
Also, the kind of light has an effect. Flourescent lights show up more defects than sunlight. You can have a paintjob looking beautiful in the sun, then roll it into the shop and it looks like crap, its the shop flourescent lights.
So, if you got a job looking good under flourescents, roll it outside and it will be dazzling!!

Leaks?
Ok Steve, correct me if I get this wrong, upspirate, I can see from the photo's where you might end up with a leak/ problem if you take your boat outside. I'm no judge of these things but it looks as thou you've got a little too much draft. JMHO, but, what do I know, my boat is only good for holding rain in.
