John,

I think my brother owns a place on Weiss. Is that on the Ga Ala border?

Is it a river or something that has been damned?

That explains it! A couple of years ago I was crusing the Tennessee River and between Wheeler and Decatur I passed 4 or 5 antique boats going the opposite direction. I'm betting the Wheeler show was going on. Sounds like an interesting gathering. If you find out for sure which weekend it is happening please let us know. I don't need much of an excuse to make a run on the Tennessee and this sure qualifies!

Leakcheck,
Weiss Lake is manmade from the Coosa River. It is very close to the AL - GA border. Just north of Gadsden.

The cities of Centre, Cedar Bluff, and Leesburg are around the lake.

I think I am about to have some bad news delivered to me in the near future. The bad news will be that I will have a function that I have to attend during the same time period as the Gathering !! OH, I am hoping the time frame is wrong !! Dang

Bill..it's not a matter of too slow..quite the contrare

John Bowen...that's scary, real scary !! Don't you say anything if you know more than I, cuz I havent been told yet...I just seem to have a really good gut feeling from questions that have been coming my way lately. I will do my best to get my request in for the "right" date...but I need to know soon what "their" plans are because it will determine wether I have the time/money to put into the boat..or if I will be doing further renovations to the house. (The only good thing at this point is that it is not my daughter!)

I talked with Gayle & Barry today. GLEN-L want this thing to FLOAT!

Let's not forget what this thread is about!

Barry wants to put out a new folder of who has committed to come. As in who has made reservations and is committed to come! I agree!

I'm messing arround. But, you'll see mine posted just after the first of the year. I'm going to try for the lake cabins first. Got to try to beat the bass fishing people and the colour watchers!

I'll post the reservation.

I'm in too. I'll get there in the middle of the week, or earlier. I heard that it is quite nice colors and scenery going from Chattennoogga down to Guntersville. Does anybody else want to take a scenic cruise in that area a couple days before the weekend??

Assuming my boat will be finished and dialed in, I'd love to take a color cruise the lake, say to Nickajack and back. But having said that, if anyone wants to take a driving color trip, I'm up for that as well.

Right now I am in. I think I will just travel there (not stay) as it is only a 45 minute drive for me.
