yes, I did the bias cut on the bow ends of the canoe, regular fabric, just bias cut it for the ends, it forms tight curves very well.
I got a little bit of scuffing on bottom of the bow, scuffs from mostly concrete boat ramp beaching.
local boat ramp access does not have any soft spot to park the canoe.

Oak is over rated, everything about it takes extra time; then it warps, splits or checks !!!
