Re: Poker Run G15

Count me in! Looking forward to seeing everyone and hopefully bringing my time-delayed creation if my motor arrives in time. It has a new name, "Angler of Repose". At least bring it and tie it up to the dock if you don't have a motor. Yeah, no kidding. We have had numerous projects-on-a-trailer in ...

Re: Slither build in GA

I have been hearing good things about Suzuki. The local SeaTow operator only uses Suzuki.
The outboard builders correct me, but isn't the sides of the splashwell (fastened to battens) take the place of the conventional knee?
the conventional knee is on a plain transom, not a splash well, correct?

What's your favorite navigation app?

My chartplotter only has offshore (I didn't buy the inland charts) charts.
Nowadays that plotter software can be on a phone app.
Whats your favorite app?

Re: Test(s) sample(s) clears/UV/topcoats

My epoxy hardeners are slow/medium/fast temperatures usage.
Each one is a different color, that is how I get amber colored epoxy to emulate varnish.
Today is a scarf joint with fast hardener, and a amber part of the test sample piece

Re: Lee's Monaco utility build

One of my prop setups was a 17x14 4blade. I swear I could feel prop tip vibes. It was a high end vibe, but I don't have a frequency counter to prove it. it was coming from exactly where the tips would be though. that wheel came off anyway it didnt do anything special. I been working on a donor boat ...

27' Noodle /Scarf / Laminate / Sheers

So I need new rub rails on the Double Eagle, Some of this may (or may not) be of help to someone laminating sheers or chines, so, I'll post pics 3/4" x 1" wood Sapele. 25' boat it takes 27' to go around the curve of the sheer. All 1 piece. It's a real noodle to work with. At 27' it is flexible as a ...

Cool.
Sale Creek marina is onboard to accommodate us, they got restrooms, gas, ice, snacks,
Perhaps appropriate we get gas & ice from him for his support of our cause.

The other stops I mention have beer & food.
edit: Amigos has a party room for 40 people, I got it reserved

Glass cloth is definitely more scratch resistant than none. I have hit docks, hit the boat, backed the tractor into the boat, yes, I'm glad I glassed it. My topsides are painted, I have done several repairs, and no problem repairing the glass. My transom is finished bright, no stain. I am of the sch...

Boat listing / Prop rotation / Helmside

A recent post by a builder brought up the paragraph in the inboard installation book about prop rotation and helm placement causing listing. I don't think it matters, but, its in the book. If it does matter, to which boats does it matter.?? I have a center console, R/H prop, and no list. 112hp 2:1 g...
