When I took it to get weighed at the local gravel quarry, came to 1020 lbs with the big refg. And it pulls easily with the 1.8 2012 Chevy Sonic.....

You could create a nightmare down the road (moisture trapped )....Just do the strips... make em thicker if woried about strength... 5/16 is plenty thick with 6oz glass inside and out.....

You could always built the hull panels out of glued up strips to the size of the plywood panels....

That boat looks like a big project for a first time build.....On the other hand this type construction is quick and easy....

Just lengthen the boat and stick it in their....I added a foot or more to the TNT...We just sold a polaris 750 which would have fit in it....

My TNT... I Veed the transom and it never starved out for water no matter how tight I turned.... You would need the 1200 Yamaha we just sold for that boat and V the hull al the way back to the transom....It would fly then.... WaveRunner specs.... Length 115.4" Height 40.2" Width 45.3" Weight 673 lbs...

You could build Ruth for under $200 besides the ores...I like using 1/2'' Baltic birch for the frames..and some cedar 2x4's from Home depot and fabric..

I think a bigger motor with out increasing the size of pump won't produce any more speed...When I went from a Kaw.550 to a 650 I had no increase in speed.....
