Barrelback 19 as built by Jack Warren

The photos below from Jack Warren in Canada who did a truly excellent job building his BARRELBACK 19 from our plans. As the photos prove, the designer has a keen eye for what it takes to turn out a set of plans for a classic runabout design that looks truly authentic. One would be hard pressed to believe that this boat was anything less than a costly restoration of a genuine "original" from the past. And yet the resulting NEW boat is superior in every way to boats of the past, all at a fraction of the cost.
Says Jack, "I am very pleased with the performance of the boat. It has lots of zip with 190 HP, gets up on plane very quickly and rides very level.... It turned out that the boat floated right on the waterline just like it is supposed to.... Many thinks for your design, it was a great project!"

Jack came across on old 1966 Century Ski Dart for a bargain price from which he salvaged much of the hardware including the engine (289 c.i. Ford V-8), transmission, shaft, strut, prop, gages, steering rudder, stuffing box, lights, and more.   Thanks for sharing your photos and feedback, Jack.

Jack's BARRELBACK hull above is ready for fiberglass sheathing and finishing.   Below, Jack is boring for the propeller shaft hole using his strut along with data we provide on the plans as a guide.  While there is no rocket science involved here, for those unfamiliar with such procedures, we have recommended books listed on the respective design web pages that go into such details so that anyone can do these tasks themselves.
